I refuse to review the item since I received an item that had been returned to the seller. I was under the impression that since I paid the full price listed I would be receiving a new item.

so far so good,could have more distinque button for "play",when using it in the dark.

At one time "Sony" had a very good reputation for quality products. This cassette recorder was anything but a quality product (mechanically, everything worked just fine). Sound reproduction was abysmal -- far worse than poor! A very loud "hissss" overrode the recording -- even when I used an external microphone. I did not expect a 4track recorder, but what I got should be an embarrassment to any manufacturer. Shame on you SONY!! PC Taylor
