I would have deducted one star because it does not have an automatic paper feeder and it does not take 11x17 paper, but given the low price this is a fantastic printer for home use. The software is easy to install and easy to use. I loved this printer so much I bought a second unit! Bravo Canon!

The Canon MF3240 is a decent printer for the home user and small business users. I got my Canon MF3240 at a pretty low price so initially I was quite happy with it. When I received it, the look of the printer seemed old fashioned and not good looking at all. The printer is fairly large, but it is typical for most decent multifunction printers. The print quality for this laser printer is excellent and it prints quite fast. The usability of this product is good although some tweaking is needed here and there. I found the lack of a power button to be extremely annoying. The software was much better than my old Epson multifunction printer, but it still is a bit annoying here and there. I also could not find a way to stop printing when I had numerous sheets printing, except by unplugging the printer. It seems like that stop/reset button is nearly useless under normal circumstances. The scanner works great although it can be a bit slow to start. The manual multipurpose tray works good with envelopes. Printing double sided (duplex) is extremely annoying as when the odd pages are printed, the heat curls the paper. Even the slightest curl will cause a paper jam when it is loaded back in to print the even pages. This is a huge flaw that makes double sided (duplex) printing almost impossible. I absolutely cannot give the MF3240 anything more than 3 stars due to the amount of little quirks and the constant paper jamming for double sided (duplex) printing. Edit: I know this has been mentioned in other reviews, but I have been experiencing this quite often. I like to use sheets that are not 8.5" x 11" and this causes a an error if the correct paper size is not selected. The only correct way to clear the error is to insert the correct sized sheet and this will waste toner. The incorrect way is to "unplug" the printer which probably will cause damage in the long run. This is another flaw with this printer model.

This was bought to replace a very large piece of Xerox equipment that was on lease for $220 per month. For around $500 this is a great machine. Friends have similar machines from other suppliers but they all seem to be sun-standard, this one is perfect for us. Canon, in my opinion, have got this spot-on for practicality, size, function and price. Buy it!

We get nothing but paper jams on outgoing as well as incoming. You can never do a multiple page fax as many pages go through. I literally have to hand feed any multiple page fax and make sure it goes through. Most times I have to send it twice. I would not buy this machine ever. It is going in the trash as soon as my new one comes in.

I use this in a small construction office. The fax is great. The copies are terrific. My only two negatives are that sometimes it pulls more than one sheet of paper - really annoying during a check run. And my machine sometimes spazzes into "Check paper size" error which is easily corrected by pressing the reset button a few times. Other than those items, a real workhorse. Definetely made me a Canon fan!

i liked the product alot except the fact you can't connect a phone to this product. Even though it has a throughput jack it is intended only to be connected to an answering machine, so don't buy this product if you intend to hook it up to another device like say a coordless phone. the device doesn't have an autosensing feature where if you pick up the phone it'll turn the fax off or anything like that. in the end i had to return a pretty cool machine because i had to use it with a coordless phone. i wish canon would have a feature to disable/enable this type of useage. i talked to a tech rep who said this is intended to be used as a handset unit since it has a phone handset with it.

I had one just like this that I had purchased 12 years ago. It had lasted so long I decided I would look for another one just like it. The only reason I had to get a new one was because my neice had decided to copy her hand and broke off a piece of plastic. Otherwise, it was still going strong.

Clumsy, not user-friendly and contrary operationally to other Canon PC's I've had. Not recommended! Altho, it DOES COPY!

CNMPC430 Personal Copier,15-7/8"x16-3/8"x4-1/8",Instant Warm Up,WE This is a very handy, compact, easy to operate personal copier. It updates one that is ten years old which we liked very much and instantly replaced with Canon's newest version.

This product is a great fax machine at a great price, too! We got the fax much sooner than I thought, in the original packaging and in perfect condition. I will definitely recommend this product and the supplier again. Albert

I bought this fax and originally had a great review of it, I gave it 5 stars too. I have leant a lesson not to review before 3 months. In about 3 months there were very frequent paper jams, there were day we could not send or recive faxes. It turns out the rubber rollers were not picking up the paper. We used good paper too from Xerox. The tech says we need to get some product to "renew" the rubber, they have gone from black to grey-ish. The fax is in a relatively dust free office. The previous fax was the model before this one, we had it for 8 years, we only changed it because a part broke.

Very unhappy with quality of machine. The first fax (3 pages) that I sent jammed during transmission and all 3 pages went as one. Also the paper after transmission comes out at the top and not bottom of machine so it curls over on itself. Poor design. Quality of speaker was bad. Lots of static. I returned it!
