For those of you with wrist issues (I have tendon-itis), the wrist pad may not be soft enough for you. It is too firm for me. The lower part of my palm gets sore quickly. I'm going to return this and try one of the gel pads.

You'll buy this mouse pad and say to yourself, "It's not a bad pad but the elevation of the mouse with respect to the wrist support is a little low..." Then one day you'll discover that the mouse pad isn't glued onto the plastic surface. "Hmmm...", You'll say to yourself... "I could elevate the mouse pad by placing paper under it." And that's exactly what I did. The wrist rest and mouse pad went from annoying but usable to awesome and usable. A side effect of doing this is that your mouse won't hit the plastic edge anymore--more space to move around really. Awesome.

I bought my last FELLOWS gel pad in 98 and since it is now 09, that should tell you enough. My last one was still in ok condition... but the gel pad was starting to shrink from old age. The only difference in the old one and this one, the gel pad is not removeable in this new one. I have a laser mouse and really shouldn't need a mouse pad. I use one anyway to keep from scratching my desk and for the wrist pad to protect my hand from strain. You can trust anything sold by Fellows. I have many of their products around my desk. Always happy with them. They are priced fairly also.
